Call for Roundtable Proposals:
The Commission for Accelerated Programs (CAP) is seeking roundtable proposals for The 11th National Conference for Accelerated Programs in Higher Education, The Future of Accelerated Programs: Quality Standards, Technology and Innovation, August 3rd & 4th, 2012, at Metropolitan State College of Denver. Proposals should be relevant to o­ne of the following conference themes:

•     Quality/Assessment/Good Practice
•     Technology
•     Innovation

Roundtable facilitators should be prepared to make a 25-30 minute presentation and then lead an interactive discussion of their topic with interested participants. Hand-outs may also be provided to participants. Roundtable sessions will be o­ne hour in length and can be facilitated by o­ne or two people.

Proposals should be no more than 300 words in length including a concise title. All proposals must be based o­n work or projects occurring in accelerated programs, and should address a successful practice/s or innovation/s that has evidence of success at a post-secondary institution. This will be the first criteria by which proposals will be selected.

Proposals should include your name, mailing address, institutional affiliation, daytime phone number, email address, and the conference theme you are addressing. The preferred method of submission is as via email as an attached Word document. Please submit proposals to Jeannie McCarron at jmccarro@regis.edu by Friday, February 10th. A conference committee will meet to review all proposals. You will be notified as to the status of your proposal no later than Thursday, March 1st.

Customized for your Institution: CAP Onsite Workshops!

This past summer CAP provided a workshop at Elizabethtown College in Central PA. The workshop titled “Writing Graduate Level Curriculum in an Accelerated Program” was attended by affiliated faculty, administrators, and admissions/advising staff. Royce Ann Collins, Ph.D., assistant professor at Kansas State University and former chair of CAP, provided the o­ne-day workshop. The interactive, hands-on workshop included: characteristics of adult learners, attributes of graduate level curriculum, writing program learning outcomes, direct and indirect assessments, application, and incorporating technology.
