JULY WORKSHOP WILL FOCUS ON FACULTY DEVELOPMENT THRU TECHNOLOGY
| Please Join Us!
What: The 7th National Workshop for Accelerated Programs in Higher Education: FACULTY DEVELOPMENT THRU TECHNOLOGY
When: July 20-21, 2009
Location: Metro State College of Denver
Why Attend? Do you know how to create a Blog, conduct a faculty development session through a Webinar, or collaborate online using a Wiki? Do you use RSS? Do you have an avatar? If not, this workshop is for you. These topics and more will be addressed. As accelerated programs and technology continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of adults and nontraditional students, it is critical that faculty and administrators know how to incorporate appropriate technological enhancements. Email and threaded discussions comprised the first generation Web. We learned their limitations and how to effectively use them to enhance learning. Now, Web 2.0 has a greater potential to impact how we educate or develop our faculty. Web 2.0 is being used by corporations to market and communicate with their customers. Customers are linking to sites, commenting on, and forwarding information to others. Web 2.0 is dynamic and changing the way we think about education. It is time we learned HOW and WHEN to use these features.
